Happy Hour!

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I love me some Happy hour. What could possibly be better than professionals getting hammered after a long hard days work in a super ritzy environment? The best part about a good happy hour are the amazing prices. An other wise pricey establishment just became affordable between the hours of 3-7. I'm in the giving mood so I will share a few of my all time favorites with you.

1. The Four Seasons in Baltimore MD is my all time favorite. The location accompanied by the fact that a Michael Minas sushi bar is inside the hotel as well.  Most drinks and appetizers are only $5.

2. Bandera in Brentwood is FAB! Live jazz daily with all drinks made with fresh ingredients. No syrups or artificial sweeteners.

3. Wolfgangs of Beverly hills is amazing. This place is all about the bar. The bartenders are super sweet and I appreciate the family like atmosphere.

4. The Penthouse at Mastro's has the best steakhouse bar/lounge menu. So many different items to choose from. It doesn't hurt that its Maesto's either.

5. Crustaceans Beverly Hills speaks for its self. Such a Hollywood hot spot. I'm sure all of your favorite stars have made an appearance here. The garlic noodles are to DIE for.

One of my friends put me on to the best happy hour app. Search "Happy Hours" on your iPhone. You will find great happy hours in your area and the times they begin & end.

Friendships: The rise and the fall

How many times have we been really close to someone and felt this friendship would never end? Not only were you guy’s friends, you considered each other family. Now you find yourself not speaking to this person. Maybe you guys had a falling out or maybe one of you guys moved away and simply grew apart. I believe this has happened to everyone at some point in life.

If you’re into “self improvement” as I am, You may find yourself wondering what it was that you did wrong? How could you have done better and why did the friendship end?

After years of meeting and losing contact with people I honestly think that not one person is more at fault then the other. Friendships are sometimes for a reason. For example; If you were really into partying and hanging out, then you stop. You may find that you don’t run out with the same group. No one person is at fault, you simply grew apart.

After years of having different falling outs with people you realize that you are simply not on the same page. Someone in the friendship may be feeling “some kinda way” about the other person and the issue never gets resolved.

Once you walk away from the friendship you move on with life and everything else is water under the bridge. Through out life we will not like everyone that we meet. I think it's human to to disagree.

We can easily get caught up in the emotion of the situation or the “he said, she said”. The fact of the matter is that on the outside looking in, no one wins in a battle of words. No one wins in a physical altercation. The only victory is the one that you win internally. If the friendship is worth saving, save it! If you would be better off without all that baggage let them go. It really is that simple.

Natural Hair Journey

I decided to hop on the bandwagon and go all #TeamNatural. Natural hair that is. About 2 winters ago I got a sort hair cut and instead of getting a touch up with a relaxer I decided to let my hair grow out. While transitioning to all natural hair, I just decided to wear various sew ins and I made my own Upart wigs. Since I decided to transition I didn't do a big Chop, I just cut the relaxed ends off as my natural hair grew. Now that I am into my first year of all natural hair I can tell you that in regard to the overall health of my hair, going natural was one of the best decisions I have ever made. A few items that work best for me are:

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil

Loreal Evercream Sulfate free Moisture System Shampoo and Conditioner

Organix Coconut Milk

Both the Loreal and the Organix work great on Virgin Hair Extensions

I use a few more products but I will be making a Youtube video to show my progress and what I use.

Justin Timberlakes' "'The 20/20 Experience"

Justin Timberlakes' 20/20 was released and I am loving me some J.T. If you're anything like me you have been rocking with J.T since N'sync days. This man is truly a visionary.  So far my favorite tracks are: "Blue Ocean Floor", "That girl", "Strawberry bubblegum" and "Don't hold the wall".

This album got me body rolling all over the place.

In honor of Justins' new album, I decided to share one of my favorite J.T videos and a true brake out Performance. Jeeze, I used to love this song. Truly repeat worthy in it's day!

Team Housewife Vs. Independent Women

I was watching the Real Housewives of Atlanta this past week and there was a scene where Nene felt it was appropriate for her to ask Portia if she was being controlled by her husband and the rest of the ladies kind of chimed in and took Nene’s side on the matter. I found that conversation to be disturbing to me for many reasons and on so many different levels. I’m going to try my best to articulate my thoughts and a clear decisive manner because this is the type of shit that pisses me all the way off.

When the group gathered in the limo, Nene started the conversation by asking Portia why she didn't want to go to a strip club. After explaining her views on women being degraded, Portia let the women know that she was on the same page as her husband when it comes down to that matter. Somehow Nene goes into a rant about how she used to work at a strip club and she met her husband there and some other shit that had nothing to do with nothing.

Then she goes on to give Portia a lesson on marriage and "mens" controlling ways. Further more, the Group of women decided that they would tell Portia that her views on marriage were wrong (in so many words) and that her “traditional” values were some “bullshit.

Those statements bring me to write this blog post because my panties get all in a bunch when I hear other women come down on ‘homemakers”, “kept girlfriends” and “housewives”. I mean come on with this shit.  This feminist crap has gone entirely too far.

I do understand, not every woman wants to be in a relationship where the man is the breadwinner and the woman is a stay at home “whatever”.  I also understand that some women, out of concern for their close friends or family members, do want their friends to be protected in the event that this man leaves. What I do not understand is that when a woman makes the decision to be in a TRADITIONAL (yes I said traditional) relationship other woman look down on this woman as if she is setting feminism back.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with a woman deciding to support her man in the form of making sure their home is taken care of.

The problem with “Independent” women is the fact that they apply this independence to everything that they do and they can, in certain instances, be over barring and super opinionated about the way that other people choose to live their lives.

There is nothing weak about a woman supporting and building an empire with her man. The story of a persons’s life is never defined by what they are doing at that particular moment. We all grow, learn and change at different times. That is the beauty of life, trying different things and figuring out what works and what does not.

Just because a woman is in a supportive & loving relationship with a man does not mean that she is letting her dreams die nor does it imply that a married homemaker can not support herself IF she has to separate from her man.

I find it absolutely terrible that a married woman will scold another, because of a choice made INSIDE marriage.

If any of you women were married to George Cloney and could live a wonderful, globe trotting life. I wonder how many of you bitches would be fighting to keep your job at Starbucks?

Don’t get me wrong, I am all for women doing their thing in the work force and getting their education. I love to hear about women having amazing careers.  I just wish that “those” women could show the same support to other woman with a slightly different plan for their lives.

Just a few of my favorite supportive ladies & their leading men.
