What brought about my positive change?

What brought about the positive change in my life?

When I moved across the country to California, I found myself making a few of the same mistakes I made in Michigan… Putting too much trust in the wrong people, and maybe even a little too concerned with others opinions of me.  I genuinely want to see people succeed, and I love getting and giving advice to people close to me. I’m human and I most certainly have weaknesses, but I mean we all do.

The honest to goodness truth is that most people are judging you. Once you understand that, you realize there is nothing you can do to control another person’s thoughts regarding you. More times than not, people base their opinions of others off of what they have seen and been through themselves. Have you ever had a friend tell you “all men are dogs”? That opinion is not based on actual fact, It’s based on HER experiences. Sad, but even she plays a part in that mistreatment. You see… in order to be “dogged” by any man, woman or child displays a certain level of low-self esteem. In most cases a person will never say “ I don’t love myself enough to walk away from a person that is bad for me’. Instead we say, “I love him too much to leave” “he’s no good” “he’s a dog” or “he will soon grow out of that phase”.  Placing blame on someone else is temporary pain relief. Kinda like putting a band aide on a deep cut… you can stop the bleeding but you never really fixed the problem.

I have been in that same situation with friends and boyfriends… you name it. I honestly got tired. There had to be more to life than just meeting people that wouldn’t treat you badly. There had to be a way to weed out the good from the bad.  I got on my hands a knees and I prayed to God. Maybe a month after that, I read a blog written by an amazing woman. She talked about following the principles in the book “The Secret” I decided to pick up the book again. The first time I read the book I just skimmed through it… This time I really decided to commit to the principals in the book. When you have faith in God you can do anything. Sometimes we just need to hear the information again in the right setting for the message to really stick. After watching the movie version of the book, everything just seemed to fall into place. It really stuck with me this time and I honestly feel great. I have wonderful people in my life. I realized any thing in life is directly related to how you feel about your self. You honestly have to be that change you want to see in the world. It all starts with you.

God bless and have a wonderful Easter Weekend!

Envious much?

"When a girl doesn’t like you, they link up with other girls that don’t like you either. Before you know it, it’s a hating ass group of bitches that have nothing better to do than hate on you for most likely irrational reasons that don’t make sense. The funniest part is they more often than not don’t even like each other, but they have that one thing in common and that’s you."

Scrolling around the wonderful world wide web. I found this beautifully written quote about "jealous bitches" linking up with one thing in common... Their mutual hate for you. Although on some level,  I do agree... the whole misery loves company thing never gets old. We all have haters, some more than others... We all get annoyed with the lies, rumors and gossip. It honestly has to get old after a while.

It's not about the haters you have it's about how we deal with them. I put my self in this category because this is not something I have mastered myself. We all have buttons and we can tend to get in our feelings from time to time. No one likes to be talked about or unfairly judged by anyone.

When I think about the scrutiny and judgement people place on celebrities I begin to toughen up. I mean can you imagine? How many people could really deal with constant criticism even when your trying to do something great? I figure, if they can deal with it... I'm sure I can manage.

Over all, no one wants to hear about how many haters you have in access. It's like ok... we get it... putting too much energy and focus into anything will give you just that thing you focus on... "The Secret" 101.... If you constantly complain about haters you will have more haters. When you focus on something else, you will realize the haters seem to disappear. I know it's easier said than done, but trust me.. It's well worth a try.

It's a cold harsh world out there doll, everybody can't make it look as fly and fabulous as you.

Friendships: The rise and the fall

How many times have we been really close to someone and felt this friendship would never end? Not only were you guy’s friends, you considered each other family. Now you find yourself not speaking to this person. Maybe you guys had a falling out or maybe one of you guys moved away and simply grew apart. I believe this has happened to everyone at some point in life.

If you’re into “self improvement” as I am, You may find yourself wondering what it was that you did wrong? How could you have done better and why did the friendship end?

After years of meeting and losing contact with people I honestly think that not one person is more at fault then the other. Friendships are sometimes for a reason. For example; If you were really into partying and hanging out, then you stop. You may find that you don’t run out with the same group. No one person is at fault, you simply grew apart.

After years of having different falling outs with people you realize that you are simply not on the same page. Someone in the friendship may be feeling “some kinda way” about the other person and the issue never gets resolved.

Once you walk away from the friendship you move on with life and everything else is water under the bridge. Through out life we will not like everyone that we meet. I think it's human to to disagree.

We can easily get caught up in the emotion of the situation or the “he said, she said”. The fact of the matter is that on the outside looking in, no one wins in a battle of words. No one wins in a physical altercation. The only victory is the one that you win internally. If the friendship is worth saving, save it! If you would be better off without all that baggage let them go. It really is that simple.

Plans and Purpose

God blesses us all with different gifts; once you start to covet a gift that God gave to someone else... you lose sight of what God is trying to do for you. Most of us want money and nice things and all of those things can be yours.

How do you get these things? The path that is for you can only be found by following the plan that God has for your life. Many want to know what that plan is. That plan or purpose can be found in your goals and aspirations, your prayers and your wishes, your dreams and your hopes.

How do you know that you are living God's Purpose? You will know you are living out your purpose by the way that you feel, the thoughts that you produce and the love that you show to others. People that are truly living in the “power of now” are feeling the love and the joy of having everything they need in THAT moment, In spite of everything that may be going on around you. The “Secret” is to stay positive while working on you. Get all of the negativity out of your life and think nothing but positive thoughts. Realize that you already possess everything that you need to become successful.

The final step is production! Create great things. Write down your thoughts or your plans. Paint a picture or sing your song. Faith without work is dead. In knowing that, you must try to plant seeds so that they may grow. Remember, how will anyone know what you dream or aspire to be unless you bring forth something in to this world.
