With the fall season approaching I decided to add a few good
products to my makeup bag. In effort to switch out my cool summer colours for
that of a warmer tone, I decided upon a few glosses and a few good
bronzers/blush pallets.

Thirty is the year of the BO$$
Is thirty really the new
twenty or the same ole’ dirty thirty?
Now that I’m getting closer to the age of thirty, I few thoughts come to
mind... I am more blessed than I have ever been, my friends and family are all in
good health and I still look pretty decent. Aside from the pounds I want to
drop, life is good.
In the back of my mind I
can’t help but to reflect on my life. At the age of eighteen, thirty seemed to
be so far away. It’s like I set a lifetime worth of goals all between the age
of eighteen & twenty-nine. I guess eighteen year olds tend to do that.

| The countdown |
Looking in the mirror I still
feel attractive but in a womanly way. No longer am I into quantity, I know that
I deserve quality. I guess those are lessons learned along the way.
Back when I was eighteen, the
thought of turning thirty would scare the hell out of me. Now I look forward to
the future with anticipation because I know great things await me.
I absolutely LOVED my
twenties, I met great people, traveled, loved hard and I fell flat on my
ass several times. Those lessons learned prepared me for the real world. I understand what Jay-Z meant when he said “thirty is the new twenty”, but I have a
slightly different approach. For me, thirty is the year of the BOSS. All of my “thirty
something’s” know what I mean… In your thirties, you become unapologetically who you are. Thirty is the age where you know what you like
and you settle into your grove. Now that you have the life training &
education you start to set yourself up for the rest of your life.
A little checklist...
Turning 30: 30 Things Every Woman Should Have And Should Know
By 30, you should have …
1. One old boyfriend you can imagine going back to and one who reminds you of how far you’ve come.2. A decent piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in your family.
3. Something perfect to wear if the employer or man of your dreams wants to see you in an hour.
4. A purse, a suitcase, and an umbrella you’re not ashamed to be seen carrying.
5. A youth you’re content to move beyond.
6. A past juicy enough that you’re looking forward to retelling it in your old age.
7. The realization that you are actually going to have an old age — and some money set aside to help fund it.
8. An email address, a voice mailbox, and a bank account — all of which nobody has access to but you.
9. A résumé that is not even the slightest bit padded.
10. One friend who always makes you laugh and one who lets you cry.
11. A set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra.
12. Something ridiculously expensive that you bought for yourself, just because you deserve it.
13. The belief that you deserve it.
14. A skin-care regimen, an exercise routine, and a plan for dealing with those few other facets of life that don’t get better after 30.
15. A solid start on a satisfying career, a satisfying relationship, and all those other facets of life that do get better.
Once you realize where you came from, you can see clearly see how far you have come. Give yourself some credit... you're doing just fine.
