Big City life, Truths and Myth

When I was planning my move to Los Angeles I had a laundry list of ideas on how “Big City” life would be. For some odd reason I imagined that I would be robbed or car jacked within the first year and all haters would be left in the small city that I was leaving. Moving to a big city for me was one of the most challenging and rewarding times of my life but not for the reasons I thought. I get a lot of questions from people wanting to move to a big city so I decided to give you guys a list of things I found to be true and false. I hope that some of my Truths and Myths help you guys finalize the purchase of that one-way ticket!

Girl, you DO need a man!

I don’t need a man I can do everything all by myself…

Welp… I know I’m going to ruffle a few feathers with this post but it’s been heavy on my heart for a while. I wanted to be mindful of others feelings but I have to be honest and speak my truth.

A while ago I was in Vegas visiting one of my dear friends and we started to talk about relationships and love. My good friend is such an amazing, accomplished and strong woman I sometimes find myself in awe of her. After girl talking with her about our personal experiences in life, I have come to realize so many women need to hear my message.

Tales of the Nouveau Riche

I love my Michiganders...  The hope they get from acquiring just under a million dollars is just... insanely optimistic at best.

I wish nothing but the best for this family. Remember... "a fool and his money are soon parted."

What brought about my positive change?

What brought about the positive change in my life?

When I moved across the country to California, I found myself making a few of the same mistakes I made in Michigan… Putting too much trust in the wrong people, and maybe even a little too concerned with others opinions of me.  I genuinely want to see people succeed, and I love getting and giving advice to people close to me. I’m human and I most certainly have weaknesses, but I mean we all do.

The honest to goodness truth is that most people are judging you. Once you understand that, you realize there is nothing you can do to control another person’s thoughts regarding you. More times than not, people base their opinions of others off of what they have seen and been through themselves. Have you ever had a friend tell you “all men are dogs”? That opinion is not based on actual fact, It’s based on HER experiences. Sad, but even she plays a part in that mistreatment. You see… in order to be “dogged” by any man, woman or child displays a certain level of low-self esteem. In most cases a person will never say “ I don’t love myself enough to walk away from a person that is bad for me’. Instead we say, “I love him too much to leave” “he’s no good” “he’s a dog” or “he will soon grow out of that phase”.  Placing blame on someone else is temporary pain relief. Kinda like putting a band aide on a deep cut… you can stop the bleeding but you never really fixed the problem.

I have been in that same situation with friends and boyfriends… you name it. I honestly got tired. There had to be more to life than just meeting people that wouldn’t treat you badly. There had to be a way to weed out the good from the bad.  I got on my hands a knees and I prayed to God. Maybe a month after that, I read a blog written by an amazing woman. She talked about following the principles in the book “The Secret” I decided to pick up the book again. The first time I read the book I just skimmed through it… This time I really decided to commit to the principals in the book. When you have faith in God you can do anything. Sometimes we just need to hear the information again in the right setting for the message to really stick. After watching the movie version of the book, everything just seemed to fall into place. It really stuck with me this time and I honestly feel great. I have wonderful people in my life. I realized any thing in life is directly related to how you feel about your self. You honestly have to be that change you want to see in the world. It all starts with you.

God bless and have a wonderful Easter Weekend!

Paparazzi Princess's

Bria Williams and Reginae Carter

"Instead of relying on Instagram and Twitter as most of their peers do, their story is told in their new novel "Paparazzi Princesses" through the characters of Kyla Jones and Promise Walker. On their journey to becoming their own women, the novel's main characters face their parent's high expectations, the pitfalls of being "unintentionally famous," and, most crucially, the trials and tribulations of high school, homework, crushes, and friendship that everyone goes through. A collaboration with author Karyn Langhorne Folan, it's bound to be a page-turner for teens and young adults everywhere."

It's so great to see famous little girls look and act like little
girls. I wish them much success!

Dare to dream

When you are called to do something great people will doubt you, they may not understand you. They may even tell you that you can’t do it. It has nothing to do with you… It has more to do with them, their unfulfilled dreams and lack of passion. What kind of world would this be, if no one followed through with his or her dreams? What kind of life would you have if you never even tried?

Black excellence, opulence, decadence

Please let this be true!!! There's a new rumor that there will be a black cast member added to the next season of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Baroness Monica Von Neumann

You don't even understand my joy and excitement... I feel a fire shut up in my bones! These emotions are just... just...

This HAS to happen!

True Beyonce fan

I'm sure every little girl has once dreamed of becoming a famous super star singer. I used to sing into my hair brush pretending I was singing on stage. One woman decide to make that fantasy come to life while showing love for her husband in true Beyonce fashion. Tori Williams did a wonderful melody of Beyonces' "Love on top" & "End of time" on her wedding day.

Super cute!

Everyone loves Beyonce.

Plans and Purpose

God blesses us all with different gifts; once you start to covet a gift that God gave to someone else... you lose sight of what God is trying to do for you. Most of us want money and nice things and all of those things can be yours.

How do you get these things? The path that is for you can only be found by following the plan that God has for your life. Many want to know what that plan is. That plan or purpose can be found in your goals and aspirations, your prayers and your wishes, your dreams and your hopes.

How do you know that you are living God's Purpose? You will know you are living out your purpose by the way that you feel, the thoughts that you produce and the love that you show to others. People that are truly living in the “power of now” are feeling the love and the joy of having everything they need in THAT moment, In spite of everything that may be going on around you. The “Secret” is to stay positive while working on you. Get all of the negativity out of your life and think nothing but positive thoughts. Realize that you already possess everything that you need to become successful.

The final step is production! Create great things. Write down your thoughts or your plans. Paint a picture or sing your song. Faith without work is dead. In knowing that, you must try to plant seeds so that they may grow. Remember, how will anyone know what you dream or aspire to be unless you bring forth something in to this world.
